Privacy

The short version: no analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies. The only data stored is what you type into a form yourself.

What this site stores

Contact form

Your name, your email address, the chosen subject and your message are stored so that a reply can be sent to you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR. Messages are deleted once the matter is settled, at the latest after 12 months.

Local storage in your browser

The site keeps your chosen colour theme in your own browser's local storage. Nothing there is transmitted for analytics and nothing is read by third parties. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Hosting and processors

GitHub Pages

This website is hosted through GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P Kelly Jr Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When the site is opened, GitHub technically processes and stores the visitor's IP address for security purposes. Further information is available in GitHub's privacy statement.

Firebase and Cloud Firestore

The contact form stores submitted messages in Cloud Firestore, operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA on the basis of applicable safeguards. Google's privacy information: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

What this site does not do

  • No analytics or tracking of any kind
  • No advertising and no advertising identifiers
  • No cookie banner, because no tracking cookies are set
  • No external fonts and no social media embeds
  • Your data is never sold or passed on for marketing

Your rights

You have the right to information (Art. 15 GDPR), correction (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). To exercise any of them, write to the address in the imprint — a question or a message can be deleted on request. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
